My inspirational book TOP 10

Although I have never been a very active reader, there are still a couple of books I would recommend for inspiration. Either it's traveling, fitness, health or self-motivation, these have helped me a lot.

1)

Captain Grant Children is the first book about traveling that I read. I started to read it and after a while just stopped. I was really young and so books really didn't take a lot of my attention. Approximately one year later I found it on a bookshelf and restarted to read. This time I did it from first to the last page. I just couldn't stop. The story is about the quest for Captain Grant of the Britannia. After finding a bottle the captain had cast into the ocean after the Britannia is shipwrecked, Mary and Robert, the young daughter and son of Captain Grant decide to do a rescue expedition. The main difficulty is that the coordinates of the wreckage are mostly erased, and only the latitude (37 degrees) is known; thus, the expedition would have to circumnavigate the 37th parallel south. So the main visited countries in the story are South America, Australia, and New Zealand (funny that I do not remember the part about New Zealand and now I am writing this while I am in New Zealand. Seems like everything adds up in life).

Basically, this is a very good book which allows you to follow breathtaking adventures in far history. When it was possible to sail into unknown waters and arrive in strange lands where cannibals welcome you.

There is no surprise that Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert, is one of my picks. Actually it was very hard to read it. I could read only two to three pages at a time and then put the book down. I was really determined to read it till the end, so I stick with my plan. It got better in the middle and now I can say - this book really touched something in me. I somehow needed to grow up to its level, so that's why it was harder at the beginning to keep up with the reading. Anyhow Elizabeth's story really showed that even if you have almost the perfect life, if you are not happy with yourself, nothing will do. Also, it shows that we don't have to live up to society's standards. No One can pressure you to live up to others expectations. This book confirmed that I am on a right track.

Srew it lets do it : Lessons In Life by Richard Branson himself is one of those small "let's get to the point" books that really shake you from your core. I just literally wanted to get up and do something! The best thing is - the book is small and quick read, so you can take it with you and refresh your memory and boost your motivation every time you feel the need. It's Richard Branson - do I have to say more?

Tone It Up: 28 Days to Fit, Fierce, and Fabulous by Katrina Scott and Karena Dawn, the founders of the Tone It Up fitness and health brand, is fun, energetic, girlfriend-to-girlfriend approach to getting in shape. To them, being fit isn't just about looking smokin' hot in a bikini, but a whole-body, whole-life way of being that starts with respecting your body and taking care of your beautiful, amazing self, inside and out. I have been following them on youtube for about 8 years now so I had to get the book, on my trip to New York. It was the best souvenir and investment at once. Even if you do not want to follow the 28-day program, you can still enjoy wonderful recipes and inspirational mantras that will boost your confidence. Book is full of beautiful pictures that will help to imagine your goals (the cover is one of them!).

The Body book by (the most beautiful actress I know) Cameron Diaz was the book I was drinking like thirsty drink water in a middle of a desert. I have read reviews that said that book is too full of dry information and facts. I think that's the best part. This is the information most of the people don't even know and it's about our main tools - our body. People live their whole lives and don't know how their body functions, why we are able to run, climb the mountain and do other amazing things, why something doesn't do the proper job, why we feel down sometimes or just the opposite. We don't know what our body needs to do it's best - and this book will explain you it all! It's nice how Cameron includes her personal experience because the road to a healthy lifestyle isn't always easy.

Can't wait to get my hands on her new book!

The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari is fable written by Robin Sharma. This is a book that will certainly make you give some thought to your life, your goals and your dreams. It is a revealing story that offers the readers a simple way to live life. It shows that only the richness within you is the one that lasts and gives the fulfillment. It is another quick-read but it will take a lot of your thoughts. After every chapter, I was taking notes, because every paragraph contains a lot of deep lessons and reminders. It is nice to read them once in a while.

Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff by Richard Carlson was the first self development book I have read. I was 14 years old when I picked it up in the library. After this one I read couple more books by this author, but always wanted to return to the first one. So I saved some pocket money and bought it. It is a book that shows you how to keep from letting the little things in life drive you crazy. It contains of 100 good solutions and advises for avoiding struggle where possible. It is very easy to read it, so I always get back to it whenever I feel like I need a reminder that stress doesn't do any good and I need to stop worrying.

Stardust is another novel. It's about a fallen star which turns out to be a girl. Novels main character Tristan foolishly promises to retrieve a fallen star for the girl he wants to be his sweetheart, Victoria, and so unexpectedly finds the beautiful Yvaine. You can imagine that this is mainly a fantasy love story. But I loved the book not only because it takes your thoughts away from real-life problems, but also because there are real adventures by traveling far lands.

9)

Veronika Decides to Die is a novel by Paulo Coelho. It tells the story of 24-year-old Slovenian Veronika, who appears to have everything in life going for her, but who decides to kill herself. Her plan fails and she wakes up from coma in a mental hospital, where she is told she has only a few days to live due a heart condition caused by the overdose. She doesn't know that she is a part of an experiment - can you "shock" someone into wanting to live by convincing her that death is imminent. As she realizes that she has nothing to lose and can, therefore, do what she wants, say what she wants and be who she wants without having to worry about what others think of her - she finally starts to live.

The book wasn't cheerful or full of positivity, but I enjoyed the gloomy mood and interesting characters. This book really shows that if people would live their lives to the fullest they would be much happier. Also, all the walls around us are built by us, therefore we can also tear them down.

10)

The Little Prince, first published in 1943, is a novel, the most famous work of French aristocrat, writer, poet, and aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. It is a tale of loneliness, friendship, love, and loss, in the form of a young prince visiting Earth. The story is philosophical and includes social criticism of the adult world. Although the book is short and you can read it very quickly, it is filled with deep thoughts and old truths. It is interesting how emotions change when you read it repeatedly after a longer time. In every stage in your life, you will notice something different in those pages.
